The civil aviation ministry is addressing issues faced by SpiceJet to ensure more airlines can operate amid high demand in India. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation has placed SpiceJet under enhanced surveillance due to its financial and legal troubles. Union minister K Rammohan Naidu mentioned that airfares are market-driven but monitored by the ministry, which will intervene if prices rise steeply.
