A consortium of Mahagenco and NTPC has emerged as the leading bidder, at ₹3,800 crore, to take over the 1,350 MW Sinnar Thermal Power plant. The plant, a subsidiary of RattanIndia Power, is currently defunct and has unresolved coal supply issues and right-of-way problems.
