Bengal Cabinet okays 660 MW supercritical power plant, 5 other electricity facilities

West Bengal will establish a 660-megawatt supercritical power plant in Sagardighi, Murshidabad district. This will be the first of its kind in eastern India. The Cabinet also plans to build additional power plants and has approved other industrial projects. Efforts are underway to address ongoing flood issues in various districts.
