The Maharashtra government has approved a proposal to rename Pune airport as Jagadguru Sant Tukaram Maharaj Airport, a decision made during a cabinet meeting. Minister Murlidhar Mohol highlighted that Tukaram Maharaj was born and raised in Lohgaon, near the airport. The proposal reflects the wishes of local villagers and the warkari community, acknowledging Tukaram's significant contributions to Bhagwat Dharma.
