Gross budget allocation for Northeast Frontier Railway for the FY 2024-25 is Rs 14184.69 cr: Railway minister Ashwini Vaishnav

Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister for Railways, announced a significant budget allocation of Rs. 14,183.69 crores for Northeast Frontier Railway for FY 2024-25. The allocation for North-eastern states, Rs. 10,376 crores, was substantially higher compared to past years. The budget prioritised safety, with Rs. 1.08 lakh crores dedicated to safety upgrades such as track replacements and signalling improvements. New initiatives include the introduction of advanced 'Kavach 4.0' systems and the manufacture of additional general coaches to meet rising demand. The budget also provided for the electrification of 1,573 RKM of tracks and redevelopment of 60 stations under the Amrit Bharat Stations Scheme. These initiatives aim to enhance the overall infrastructure and safety of the railways, boosting connectivity in the Northeast.
