Indian Railways targets Rs 5,400 crore from scrap sales in fiscal 2024-25, a 3.8% increase from the previous year. Railway units instructed to maintain a zero scrap balance and minimize aged scrap. Northern Railways aims for Rs 530 crore. Scrap includes various materials like rails, fixtures, locomotives, and nonferrous items.
