Digi Yatra purely voluntary; data can be collected only after passenger's consent: Jyotiraditya Scindia

By Economic Times - 10 months ago
Digi Yatra, a contactless, seamless movement of passengers at airports based on Facial Recognition Technology (FRT), is purely voluntary for air passengers. Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has directed airport personnel to collect data only with passenger consent. The issue was raised by Rajya Sabha member Saket Gokhale. Digi Yatra is currently available at at least 13 airports for domestic passengers. Airport operators have been advised to sensitize Digi buddies on consent taking and keep the use of Digi Yatra completely voluntary.
