In a letter to transport minister Ramalinga Reddy, the influential interest group protested the fixed cab fares mandated by the state government, which will have to be followed by ride-hailing firms like Uber, Ola and Rapido, as well as non-app-based city taxis. The body, which counts over 600 internet firms including Big Tech firms like Google, Microsoft and Meta in its membership, said the flat fares in the absence of dynamic pricing would have a “chilling impact” on the state’s mobility ecosystem.
