A key challenge for the BJP in Punjab is to resolve its internal rift and discontent among party leaders. The BJP's state president Sunil Jakhar, who crossed over to the party from the Congress, is unhappy and has offered to resign from his post, according to people aware of the matter. Jakhar has stopped attending party meetings and has been in Delhi for more than a week now, they said, adding that he has differences with the party's state general secretary (organisation) Manthri Srinivasulu and has not been able to adopt the party culture.
