Former Bihar Chief Minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav recalled his experiences during the Emergency imposed by Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in 1975. Yadav mentioned that he was part of the steering committee convened by Jayaprakash Narayan to oppose the Emergency's excesses. He highlighted that he and his colleagues, who were imprisoned under the Maintenance of Security Act (MISA) for over 15 months, did not know many of the BJP ministers who now speak about the Emergency.
