Congress leader Jairam Ramesh accused the Modi government of endangering national security and youth's future by introducing the Agnipath scheme. He vowed to scrap the Agnipath military recruitment scheme when in power. Ramesh criticised the scheme for reducing armed forces recruitment and claimed it compromised India's negotiating power against China.
