West Bengal saw a high voter turnout of over 76% in the three Lok Sabha seats where polling took place. Balurghat recorded the highest turnout at 79.09%, followed by Raiganj at 76.18% and Darjeeling at 74.76%. The polling was peaceful with no reports of untoward incidents. A total of 47 candidates, including state BJP president Sukanta Majumdar, contested in the second phase, which had 51.17 lakh eligible voters.
