Asaduddin Owaisi, Lok Sabha MP and AIMIM chief, raised concerns about 1.5 lakh Muslims reportedly excluded from the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Assam after the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) was enforced. Owaisi criticized the treatment of these individuals, who may be asked to prove their ancestry dating back to 1962 or even 1951 at Foreigners' Tribunals.
