Sonia Gandhi, a senior Congress leader, has announced she will not contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from the party's Rae Bareli seat, citing health and age reasons. She has been a part of the Lok Sabha since 1999 and has been elected as the state's representative in the Lower House of Parliament since 2004.
