The Supreme Court has asked Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and other lawmakers from his group to respond to a plea filed by the Uddhav Thackeray faction. The faction is challenging Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar's order, which declared the Shiv Sena bloc led by Shinde as the "real political party" after their split in June 2022.
