When acclaimed Filipino actor and entrepreneur RS Francisco opened the doors to Rampa Drag Club in February 2024, his goal wasn't just to create a nightlife destination. He envisioned a space that champions inclusivity — a sanctuary for the LGBTQIA+ community and its allies where everyone can express themselves without fear or judgment.
Located along bustling Eugenio Lopez Drive in Quezon City, Rampa Drag Club has become more than a venue for high-energy drag performances and themed events since The Manila Times Lifestyle first featured the destination. For Francisco, it manifests his lifelong advocacy for empowerment and equality.
Known for his award-winning performance in "M. Butterfly" and as co-founder of Frontrow Philippines, Francisco brings his drive for representation to this vibrant venue.
"Rampa is more than a club — it's a safe space," Francisco shares. "I wanted to create a place where members of the queer community and their allies could celebrate who they are. This club is my way of saying: You belong here. You are celebrated here." That vision is reflected in every club detail, from its electric atmosphere to its inclusive programming. A rotating lineup of drag performers — including "Drag Race Philippines" favorites Brigiding, Viñas De Luxe, and Precious Paula Nicole, collectively known as the Divine Divas — ensures each night offers something fresh and extraordinary.
"Our performers are at the heart of what makes Rampa special," Francisco says. "It's not just entertainment; it's an experience that honors both the artistry of drag and the community it represents." Beyond the stage, Francisco's commitment to inclusivity extends to the club's events and initiatives. The "Sampa" open-mic program gives aspiring drag artists an opportunity to perform with professional-grade lighting and visuals, fostering a platform for the next generation of queer talent. Rampa also organizes themed nights such as "People Like Us," which highlights lesbians and trans men, and "Spectacular! Spectacular!" celebrating plus-size men. Moreover, the club's Halloween event, "Shake, Rattle, and Rampa," awarded P50,000 for the best costume, showcasing Rampa's support for creative expression.
Meanwhile, Francisco is planning a tribute night to honor the Golden Gays, a group of elderly gay men who have inspired his advocacy work. During the pandemic, Francisco supported the Golden Gays by selling merchandise to provide financial aid — a testament to his unwavering dedication to uplifting the LGBTQIA+ community.
"We're here to celebrate everyone," Francisco emphasizes. "From the performers to the guests, this is a place where individuality thrives. Whether you're gay, straight, trans, or simply looking for a good time, Rampa is for you." The inclusivity even extends to the menu, which features Filipino-inspired bar bites like sisig tofu and buffalo wings, paired with an extensive cocktail selection. "We've thought about every detail to make sure everyone feels at home here," Francisco adds.
Rampa's location in the vibrant Barangay South Triangle district makes it accessible to both locals and tourists, drawing a diverse crowd every night. The club's blend of top-tier entertainment and warm, welcoming energy has positioned it as one of Metro Manila's must-visit destinations.
