Masbate thrower wins first gold of Batang Pinoy 2024

Masbate's Courtney Jewel Trangia is the first gold medalist of the Batang Pinoy 2024 after recording 38.30 meters in the women's discus throw at Ramon V. Mitra R. Sports Complex in Puerto Princesa, Palawan.

This is Trangia's third-straight gold in the games as she also won the gold in Batang Pinoy 2022 in Vigan and 2023 in Manila.

Despite bagging the gold medal, Trangia said she was not satisfied with her performance as she was aiming to throw over 40 meters.

She will now head to Malaysia on Nov. 24 to compete in the Malaysian Open Athletics 2024.
