MANILA, Philippines — Chery Tiggo aims to resolve Eya Laure's contractual issues before the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) 2024-25 All-Filipino Conference begins on November 9.
Team manager Aaron Velez described the situation as a "breakup" due to a non-disclosure agreement, saying, "We're working to iron out our differences... Hopefully, we can resolve this amicably."
Laure's contract reportedly includes a "non-compete clause" barring her from transferring to another team. Velez clarified that both parties are negotiating, ensuring Laure's welfare.
PVL commissioner Sherwin Malonzo stated that the league won't interfere, emphasizing that contract disputes are internal team matters.
Chery Tiggo hopes to settle the issue within the week. The team, now under new head coach Norman Miguel, aims to improve on its fourth-place finish in the previous conference.
