NCAA: Capulong powers Chiefs past Pirates 

MANILA, Philippines — Arellano University pulled off a thrilling 91-86 victory over Lyceum of the Philippines University in the NCAA 100 men's basketball tournament's second round at the FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City on Saturday.

Lorenz Capulong led the Chiefs with a career-high double-double of 30 points and 16 rebounds.

With Arellano ahead 79-76, Capulong dominated the final 4:30 minutes, scoring crucial points to widen the gap, 84-76.

Lyceum's JM Bravo and Jonathan Daileg rallied back, but Ernjay Geronimo countered to secure Arellano's lead, 90-86, with 28.6 seconds remaining.

The game ended on a somber note as Bravo suffered a head collision with Renzo Abiera, leading to a seizure and requiring medical attention. Bravo, who scored 17 points, was carried out on a stretcher with 8 seconds left.

Ato Barba (18 points) and Renz Villegas (15 points) led Lyceum. Arellano improved to 4-8, while Lyceum fell to 6-6, tied with Letran.

The arena fell silent as players and fans prayed for Bravo's recovery.

Fortunately, medical updates indicated he had difficulty breathing but was able to speak.
