Blackwater routs Jordan Adam-less SMB, keeps QF hopes alive

MANILA, Philippines — High-scoring George King mocked the defense thrown at him as he led Blackwater to a 111-94 demolition of import-less San Miguel Beer to keep its playoff hopes alive PBA Season 49 Governors' Cup on Saturday at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium. King dropped 49 points and grabbed 11 rebounds against a Beermen side that fell by as many as 25 points. Adams sat out due to a right hamstring injury he sustained during the Beermen's 122–112 loss to the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters. The win allowed Blackwater to pull even with NLEX at 4-5, while snapping a two-game skid. The Beermen closed the two-round eliminations with a 6-4 win-loss record. Blackwater will now have to beat Rain or Shine next Monday while hope that NLEX drops its game against Barangay Ginebra to seal the fourth and final quarterfinal spot in Group B.
