Mober hosts World EV Day forum for electric vehicle adoption in PH

MOBER, a leader in green logistics in the Philippines, celebrated World Electric Vehicle (EV) Day on September 9 with the forum "Leading the way in green logistics: A forum on moving together for a carbon-free Philippines." The forum brought together government officials, the private sector and key organizations to promote commercial EV use. Mober Chief Executive Officer Dennis Ng stated, "World EV Day is a call to unite and collaborate. Green logistics is vital for a carbon-free future, and we are proud to lead by example." Observed for the fifth time since 2020, this year's World EV Day aimed to enhance global EV awareness and adoption. The event featured a keynote speech from Jesus Ferdinand "Andy" Ortega, undersecretary for Road Transport and Infrastructure at the Department of Transportation (DoTr). Ortega highlighted the government's commitment to accelerating the EV transition, aligning with the Paris Agreement and national goals. Ortega also expressed support for the Electric Vehicle Industry Development Act (Evida) and Executive Order 12 that were designed to stimulate the EV market and reduce fossil fuel reliance. Moderated by Guillermo "Bill" Luz, the panel of guests discussed the challenges and opportunities in transitioning to commercial EVs. Experts from DoTr, National Development Co., and brands such as IKEA Philippines, Kuehne+Nagel, Nestlé Philippines and Rustan Coffee Corp. participated. The event highlighted the need to integrate EVs into supply chains and align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. For more info about Mober's green initiatives, visit its website.
