THE University of Santo Tomas College of Education (UST-Educ) Department of Elementary Education held a seminar, "Transforming the Future through Holistic, Inclusive and Integrated Early Childhood and Elementary Education" online. The virtual seminar served as the 5th Nenita Caralipio D. Honorary Lecture, celebrating the 98th foundation anniversary of the College of Education. Assistant Professor Rose Marie Cordura, Bachelor in Early Childhood Education supervising teacher, said Caralipio inspired teachers and would-be-teachers "with her significant contribution to the university's research initiatives and as principal of the UST Grade School for 25 years." Associate Professor Carmina Vicente, chairman of the UST Elementary Education Department, gave the opening remarks. Delving on "Transforming the Future through Holistic and Integrated Early Childhood and Elementary Education," Diosdado San Antonio, manager of the Educational Research and Innovation Office of Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization-Regional Center for Educational Innovation and Technology (Seameo Innotech), discussed a future-focused leadership paradigm after enumerating 21st-century realities in basic education and the main features of Key Stage 1 in the Matatag Curriculum. Meanwhile, Jaime Bunga, education program specialist from the Teaching and Learning Division of the Bureau of Learning Delivery, Department of Education Central Office, discussed "Improving Equality and Inclusivity in Education through Holistic, Inclusive and Integrated Programs." Reactors included reputable academics, including Associate Professor Celina Cerda, dean of the University of Rizal System, Angono Campus; Assistant Professor Louie Dasas, assistant dean of UST College of Education; and Maria Theresa Abesamis, instructor from the UST College of Education.
