MANILA, Philippines — NLEX has agreed to trade big man Ato Ular and its Season 51 second round pick in exchange for Phoenix's wingman Javee Mocon as both squads scramble for playoff spots in the PBA Governors' Cup. Both teams engaged in the trade on Wednesday, with the PBA trade committee expected to make a decision soon. Mocon, the former San Beda forward, has been with the Fuel Masters since being traded by the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters in 2022. The sweet-shooting Mocon managed to see action on Tuesday against ROS, logging in 13 minutes and contributing just two points and two rebounds. Meanwhile, NLEX team governor Ronald Dulatre thanked the 6-foot-5 Ular despite his brief stint with the franchise. "We are thankful for Ato's time with NLEX. Although it was brief, he brought energy to our practices and games," said in a statement by Dulatre posted at NLEX's social media accounts. "We wish him nothing but the best in his journey with Phoenix." The Road Warriors (3-3) are out to arrest their two game skid and are playing the San Miguel Beermen as of posting time on Wednesday. On the other hand, Phoenix is one of two winless squads in the conference, toting a 0-6 record with Terrafirma.
