RIDE-HAILING app inDrive on Tuesday said it planned to double the number of its partner-drivers in Metro Manila by the end of 2024. "Our MAUB (monthly active user base) is growing, by the end of the year we will be adding a few thousands. The most important thing here is the base growth that we have seen," inDrive marketing director for Asia-Pacific Natalia Makarenko said. For this year, Makarenko said inDrive would be expanding to about two to three cities. "We're working hard together with our partners to enlarge our driver's base because we understand that it's not only for business development for us, but also providing opportunities of income for those drivers who want to earn a decent amount of money." Mohamed Khalil, regional driver acquisition and activation team lead, said the company was targeting to hire 16,000 partner-drivers in the National Capital Region (NCR) by end of 2024. "We are expecting the same growth. Of course we plan to grow rapidly," he added. The company, which started operations in June, currently has 8,000 partner-drivers. inDrive said it remained committed to promoting the welfare of its partner drivers, passengers, and the broader community through the "Ka-gulong, Kita Tayo!" campaign, a joint effort with transport group Laban TNVS. Laban TNVS President Jun de Leon said "we are glad to continue working closely with inDrive to create initiatives that reach out to drivers, and this campaign enables us to do just that."
