Quiboloy supporter dies during police raid

MANILA, Philippines — A member of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KoJC) died during the operation conducted by the Philippine National Police (PNP) on Saturday to arrest the religious group's fugitive founder Apollo Quiboloy at the KoJC compound in Davao.

According to the Davao Police Regional Office, the 50-year-old male victim succumbed to cardiac arrest and was declared dead on arrival at the Southern Philippines Medical Center.

The Davao police said based on information, the deceased has been sleep-deprived and exhausted from keeping guard on the tower of the KoJC compound.

It also took a long time for other KoJC members to call for an ambulance to take the patient to the hospital.

Authorities also dismissed as fake news the reports circulating that at least seven KoJC members died during the police operation.

As of Saturday noon only a quarter of the KoJC compound has been searched by the PNP following intelligence reports that Quiboloy was in the area.
