MaArte is celebrating 15 years of showcasing Filipino craftsmanship and creativity with the 2024 Fab Finds edition.
Organized by the Museum Foundation of the Philippines, a dynamic volunteer organization dedicated to raising awareness of the country's rich artistic and cultural heritage, MaArte Fair has become the foundation's annual flagship fundraising event.
The fair not only showcases innovative items that resonate with Philippine culture, arts, and history but also supports the development programs of the National Museum of the Philippines and other museum communities across the country.
As MaArte marks this milestone, the 2024 Fab Finds edition comes with a special purpose: to spotlight the country's endangered fauna, including the Philippine Eagle, Crocodile, Tamaraw, Sea Turtle, and Tarsier.
"This year is all about discovering Fab Finds with a purpose to be bearers of modernity and history," said Danny Jacinto, Museum Foundation president and MaArte committee chair.
"More than bringing home beautiful and high-quality pieces, shoppers own badges of pride in sharing the awareness on heritage conservation, especially our endangered animals," he added.
This year's fair will showcase 147 exhibitors, each offering a unique selection of artisanal products that exemplify the excellence of Filipino-made goods. Notable participants include Puey Quiñones, Joey De Castro Pottery, Vara, Henry Wee Fernandez, Kit Silver, Products of Peace, Rurungan Collective, Repamana, and Raja Watches Co., among others.
Last year, the three-day fair attracted approximately 10,000 visitors. With this year's event extending to four days, the turnout is expected to exceed those numbers.
MaArte at The Pen Fab Finds will run from August 29 to September 1 at The Peninsula Manila Hotel, open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. This year, the fair expands to two new locations: The Conservatory and Upper Lobby on the second floor, in addition to the 9th and 5th floors, Rigodon Ballroom, Garcia Villa, and Balagtas Rooms.
The event will be a vibrant showcase of Filipino creativity and craftsmanship, featuring a diverse array of artisanal products, including fashion accessories, jewelry, personal care items, home decor, toys, books, food and beverages, and more. Visitors and buyers will not only experience the rich talent of Filipino artisans but also directly support various industries, from weavers and craftsmen to entrepreneurs.
Proceeds from the fair will benefit the National Museum of the Philippines, support museum communities across the country, and fund the Museum Foundation's research grants, projects, and workshops.
