As the Philippine Olympians wrap up their campaign in the Paris Olympics, Filipino tennis star Alex Eala notched her first win in the International Tennis Federation (ITF) tournament in the 2024 Kewer Jewelers Tennis Challenge in Landisville, Pennsylvania, United States on Thursday.

Eala defeated Australia's Taylah Preston in their women's singles match, 7-5, 6-1, to advance in the round of 16.

Currently 147th in the Women's Tennis Association's (WTA) world women's singles rankings, Eala will next face Mary Stoiana of USA.

In the women's doubles event, she and Mexico's Renata Zarazúa will face Americans McCartney Kessler and Alana Smith in the opening round.
