MANILA, Philippines — Two weather disturbances were spotted in and out of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) although they would not directly affect the country, the state weather bureau said on Wednesday.
Weather specialist Robert Badrina said the tropical depression outside PAR was estimated some 2,055 kilometers east-northeast of extreme Northern Luzon while the LPA inside was about 565 kms within the same area.
The tropical depression is headed toward Japan in the coming days, the Pagasa forecaster said.
The state-run weather agency said it was the southwest monsoon or "habagat" that was expected to dump moderate to heavy rains in Luzon, particularly over Occidental Mindoro, Bataan and Zambales.
Metro Manila, Visayas, Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon), Bicol Region, and the rest of Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan) will be experiencing isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the same weather system.
The rest of the country will likely have partly cloudy to overcast skies also with isolated downpours or thunderstorms caused by the localized thunderstorms, Pagasa said in its 5 a.m. advisory.
