Paris Olympics gold winner Carlos Yulo to receive P10M, brand-new condo and many more

MANILA, Philippines — When Carlos Yulo comes back home to the Philippines, he stands to receive at least a P10 million incentive from the government and a condo worth P24 million from Megaworld.

Yulo just delivered a dazzling performance that netted him 15.0 points and the gold medal at the Paris Olympics men's gymnastics floor exercise at the Bercy Arena on Saturday evening, August 3 (Manila time).

The gold was the first medal for the Philippines in Olympic gymnastics.

Under Republic Act 10699, also known as the 'Sports Benefits and Incentives Act of 2001', Filipino Olympic and Winter Olympic gold medalists will receive P10 million on top of the Olympic Gold Medal of Valor to be issued by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC).

Silver medalists will be given P5 million while bronze medalists will be bestowed with P2 million.

'Caloy' could add to his P10 million if he makes the podium anew in the vault final set on Sunday evening, August 4.

Meanwhile, Megaworld on August 2 pledged a fully-furnished two-bedroom residential condominium unit worth P24-million inside the company's 50-hectare McKinley Hill township in Taguig City.

Following Yulo's golden medal performance, Megaworld posted on Facebook:

"IT'S A GOLD FOR THE PHILIPPINES! Congratulations Carlos Yulo! Welcome to your McKinley Hill home!"

That served as the caption in a graphic congratulating Yulo along with the 'fully-furnished 2-bedroom condominium unit in McKinley Hill, valued at P24M' in the image.

Expect more companies to give whatever they will to Yulo just like they did with the first Filipino Olympic gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz three years ago.
