MANILA, Philippines — Olympic gymnast Jake Jarman confirmed on his social media platforms that he has roots in the Philippines, particularly in Cebu.
Jarman, who represents Great Britain internationally, replied to a question on his Instagram stories if he is half-Filipino, by confirming the word "Real" as a reply.
He also mentioned his Cebuano heritage by posting a photo of himself wearing the shirt "Jake Loves Cebu" as a child, also pointing to his mother from Cebu.
In addition, Jarman was also seen with his fellow Filipino rival, Carlos Yulo, who himself is preparing for the men's individual all-around and the finals to the floor exercise and the vault.
Prior to the Olympics, Jarman won four gold medals in the Commonwealth Games on home soil, in Birmingham, England, winning the men's team all-around, individual all-around, the floor exercise, and the vault. ARIC JOHN SY CUA
