MANILA, Philippines — Incoming rookie Caelan Tiongson has inked a three-year pact with Rain or Shine on Sunday.
The Elasto Painters made the announcement of the rookie deal with the Filipino-American forward in their social media pages.
The 6-foot-5 Tiongson flew with the team to Davao where ROS is currently participating in the Kadayawan Festival.
A known bruising defender, the 32-year-old former Biola University standout could instantly provide rebounding and reliable offense for a Rain or Shine side that is coming off a semifinal stint in last season's Philippine Cup.
Tiongson, the seventh overall pick of ROS in the recent rookie draft, played for Chong Son Kung Fu in the Asean Basketball League during the 2017-18 season as its Heritage Import, followed by a stint with Alab Pilipinas the following year.
He retired from pro basketball in 2019, before making a comeback as he played for the Taoyuan Leopards in the Taiwan T1 League.
