Anyone who wants to learn how to write stories for young audience is invited to attend 'How to Write Children's Stories' course at Sunshine Place.

It is a crash course on story writing for a young audience based on the syllabus created by Joem Antonio, a Filipino children's book author and eight-time Palanca Award winner.

Antonio has a Ph.D. in Creative Writing from University of the Philippines Diliman and teaches graduate students of the MA Humanities Program at the University of Asia and the Pacific.

Antonio will teach participants how to build stories in steps and stages they'll be able to replicate outside of class.

The course includes lectures on determining specific audiences in children's literature, story design principles, and exercises to help quickly build children's stories.

Participants will leave with guidelines for engaging both children and adult readers, as well as tools for ensuring the story's language is suitable for children.

The two-session course follows closely after the success of batch one. It is scheduled on August 3 and 10, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
