THE Department of Tourism (DoT) addressed the misleading online information that incorrectly attributes photographs used in Clark International Airport Corp. (CIAC) President Arrey Perez's presentation of the Clark Complex in Pampanga to the DoT and Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco.

"Neither the DoT nor Secretary Frasco were involved in the creation or delivery of these plans made and presented by Mr. Perez," the DoT said in a statement on Saturday night.

The DoT stated that on July 12, 2024, they attended a Technical Working Group session with the Department of Transportation, the Civil Aeronautics Board, and other agencies, aviation, and tourism stakeholders with the goal of improving connectivity and optimizing Clark International Airport's current utilization.

Perez presented his future plans for the Clark Complex, which included a proposal to build a building capable of holding large events like concerts.

The entertainment complex, a 40-hectare facility with an initial budget of P32 billion, is expected to be completed by 2028.

"It will take time if you give us about six to nine months to process any proposal, and if the signing of that contract happens definitely next year and then the construction immediately starts by 2025, then you have two to three years to build this entertainment complex," Perez said.

He also stated that the project's planning began in November last year.

The stadium will accommodate 25,000 to 35,000 people, making it a better option than a larger 50,000-seat arena.

Taylor Swift's "Eras Tour" omitted Manila last year, which might have been her third performance in the Philippines.

The DoT has asked the CIAC to clarify that neither the DoT nor the secretary had any participation in the planning or presentation.
