SEN. Nancy Binay will file today an ethics complaint against Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano for insulting her during a public hearing.
The two senators had a heated argument on July 3 during the Senate inquiry led by Cayetano on the increased cost in the construction of the new Senate building in Taguig City.
"Hopefully [between] 10:30 and 11 a.m. I hope there would be no more changes so that I can file it immediately," Binay said in a text message when asked if she would proceed with the filing of the complaint against Cayetano.
Sen. Francis Tolentino heads the Senate Committee on Ethics.
Binay said Cayetano insulted her during the hearing which she claimed the latter conducted to go after her family once again.
She slammed Cayetano for calling her names such as "nabuang" (gone crazy) and "Marites" a street lingo which means "gossipy" or "nosy."
Cayetano conducted the probe as chairman of the Senate Committee on Accounts overseeing the expenses of the Senate.
He succeeded Binay as accounts panel head after a Senate coup that replaced Sen. Juan Miguel Zubiri as Senate president and installed Sen. Francis Escudero as his successor.
