Middle blocker Nunag listed as libero as Galanza back to outside hitter for Challenger Cup

MANILA, Philippines — Coach Jorge Souza de Brito made changes in the Alas Pilipinas lineup two days before the national women's volleyball team competed at the FIVB Challenger Cup.

Creamline star Jema Galanza, who was once listed as libero, has now been reverted to her natural outside hitter position.

Meanwhile, the 5-foot-11 middle blocker Cherry Nunag, who plays for Choco Mucho, has been shifted to libero in a move that will make fans ask why.

As of posting time, the changes have already been reflected at the Challenger Cup website.

Alas Pilipinas opens its campaign against Vietnam on June 5 at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium , needing to win to advance to another knockout game.

The champion of the tournament will qualify for the Women's Volleyball Nations League next year.
