inDrive serves out five-mo suspension

RL Soft Corp., the operator of the ride-hailing service inDrive, said its services are again up and running in the Philippines after a five-month suspension following alleged violations of the government's fare matrix.

The company has partnered with a local transport network vehicle service group, Laban TNVS, which it said signaled a commitment to working within the regulations and prioritizing the needs of Filipino drivers and passengers.

"We are excited to resume operations here in the Philippines," said Afanasii Petrov, inDrive's business development manager for Southeast Asia.

"Filipinos need more options for ride-hailing services as much as drivers need more sources of income. We believe that our app and this partnership will significantly bridge the gaps in the industry," he added.

InDrive resumed local operations last week in Metro Manila, Bacolod, Baguio, Butuan, Iloilo and Cagayan de Oro.

It also operates in more than 700 cities in some 46 countries.

Through the partnership, inDrive and Laban TNVS aim to open more income opportunities to Filipino drivers, as inDrive will provide its services free of charge to members during its first two to six months of operations.

By using inDrive, drivers can easily connect with passengers, promptly receive ride requests, efficiently navigate potential routes, and facilitate smooth transactions. After this period, inDrive will implement a service charge of 10 percent.

Laban TNVS President Jun de Leon said: "Our members will benefit from the partnership, especially since inDrive has the lowest service charge in the market."
