Dr. Hector Santos, Philippine Medical Association president, and Dr. Lulu Bravo, Foundation for Vaccination executive director, are pushing for the approval of the new, second generation dengue vaccine called QDenga. Manufactured by Takeda pharmaceuticals, health experts say it has shown high efficacy in reducing fatalities and is far more safe than the previous dengue vaccine.
