THE Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) joined the 2024 "KliniKalayaan" program, which was launched as part of the 126th Philippine Independence Day celebration at Rizal Park from June 10 to 12.
"KliniKalayaan" served as an avenue for various government agencies to provide free consultation and basic medical, dental and optical services to Filipinos during the three-day celebration.
Other agencies which collaborated in the program include the Philippine National Police-NCR, Department of Health (DoH) and Philippine Red Cross (PRC).
Through its medical satellite team led by medical doctor Rouel Aparato, PCSO was able to provide free consultations to 167 medical patients, 18 dental patients and 23 patients who needed ECG check-ups.
PCSO has always been active in its participation in the annual celebration of the country's declaration of independence through its various medical services made available to the public.
"The PCSO will always be ready to serve and ready to help our kababayans especially the financially challenged sector. We are happy to be a part of the Klinikalayaan 2024 collab medical mission. It is our contribution to our nation's 126th Independence event," Aparato said.
The agency displayed its various charitable programs and gaming products as well as exhibited its history to the public during the three-day event.
Meanwhile, the PCSO, led by General Manager Melquiades Robles, participated in the "Lab For All" caravan held at the Subic Bay Exhibition and Convention Center on May 21, 2024.
Board directors Jennifer Liongson-Guevara, Janet De Leon-Mercado and Retired Judge Felix Reyes also joined the caravan.
PCSO donated 1,500 charitimba (food buckets) to support the local community and provide immediate relief to those in need.
In addition to the food packs, the PCSO Zambales branch, led by branch manager Pierre Ferrer, distributed free lotto tickets to the attendees.
Further extending the support, GIPC Gaming and Amusement Center, the authorized Small Town Lottery (STL) agent corporation of PCSO in
Zambales, donated P130,000.00 worth of various medicines and vitamins.
The "Lab For All" caravan of First Lady Marie Louise "Liza" Araneta-Marcos aims to deliver free medical services, including laboratory tests, consultations, and the distribution of free medicines, along with other essential services from various government agencies, to communities nationwide.
This initiative is designed to bring accessible healthcare and government services closer to the people, ensuring no one is left behind.
PCSO's active involvement in the caravan highlights its commitment to public service and its continuous efforts to support community welfare programs throughout the Philippines.
