President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on June 29, 2023 says he has yet to choose who will be the next head of the Department of Education (DepEd), admitting, "it is harder than I thought because we absolutely have to get it right." The President said he would announce by the end of the week the replacement of Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio as DepEd chief.
