GREG Guillermo Pua Jr. was sworn in as the new executive director of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on Friday.
The 35-year-old Pua, an appointee of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., was the youngest to become LTO executive director.
LTO chief Assistant Secretary Vigor Mendoza II said Pua's "vast experience working with various private and government entities, including as LTO's chief legal consultant, will be of big help in pushing for the implementation of various projects and reform programs."
"The number of our youth clients has been increasing exponentially. We need fresh ideas in the changing landscape of government service. Executive Director Pua will bring in the youth idealism and vigor in the top level positions in the LTO," Mendoza added.
The son of San Mateo, Isabela Mayor Gregorio Pua, the new LTO chief took up Legal Management and obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree at San Beda University.
Pua held various positions in law offices and was a legal consultant for transport groups before joining the LTO.
Pua replaced Francis Almora, who will now assume the post as the director of LTO's Law Enforcement Service.
