THE Information Technology and Business Process Association of the Philippines (Ibpap) has recognized outstanding companies and government partners that helped the sector grow in the past decades.
Ibpap held its inaugural awarding ceremony "Solaia" in Taguig City on Thursday night to celebrate its 20th anniversary.
Ibpap recognized Special Assistant to the President for Investment and Economic Affairs Secretary Frederick Go as an "IT-BPM Luminary," given to a leader who has made significant contributions to the information technology and business process management (IT-BPM) industry.
The local government units of Quezon City and Iloilo City received recognition for being the outstanding partners of the industry for their notable facilitation of ease of doing business and attracting IT-BPM investments.
For the private sector, Accenture was named BPM Company of the Year, the award given to a third-party BPM firm with exceptional service, significant advancements in digital customer experience and notable business growth.
Accenture was also the recipient of the Innovative Program of the Year award.
The Global Capability Center of the Year was awarded to JP Morgan that exemplifies operational excellence and superior internal client satisfaction that significantly contributed to the success of its parent company.
The Ibpap named IBM as Technology Company of the Year, Foundever as the Company for Regional Development, and Multisys as the Small and Medium Enterprise of the Year.
Thirty IT-BPM companies were also recognized as Great Places to Work for 2024, which include Synchrony Global Services Philippines Inc., Cisco, Accenture, Atlassian, Via Appia Philippines Inc., TaskUs, Teleperformance, Capital One Philippines, 3M GSC Philippines, DXC Technology Philippines, CGI Philippines Inc., [24]7.ai Philippines, Tech Mahindra Ltd., General Motors Philippines and Lingaro (Philippines) Inc.
Completing the top 30 are Amadeus Marketing Philippines Inc., Aurecon, Genesys Cloud Services Cayman LTD-Philippines Branch, Thumbtack Philippines, Kollab, ECo Global Consulting Inc., Logix BPO, Interconnected Business Process Inc., Fulcrum Solutions, J4RVIS, Arcanys, EXCA Education Migration and Visa Services, Rocket Station Virtual Staffing, Johnson & Johnson and BIPO Service Philippines.
During his speech, Ibpap President Jack Madrid announced that the Philippines' IT-BPM industry is expected to reach 1.9 million full-time employment over the next two years and export revenues exceeding $40 billion.
Earlier, Madrid said he expects the industry to hit the first $40-billion revenue this year.
"As we look ahead into the next few decades, let us expect more change and more challenges," he said. "Artificial intelligence will continue to transform our industry, and as it advances, so must we."
