MANILA, Philippines — Veteran spiker Marck Espejo will lead Alas Pilipinas in the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) 2024 Challenge Cup for Men starting on June 3 in Bahrain.
The Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) released the 14-man lineup that included Cignal HD Spikers' ace player Jau Umandal, and UAAP high-caliber setters Owa Retamar and Joshua Bello of National University.
Two-time UAAP Most Valuable Player (MVP) and high-leaper Josh Ybañez had an unfamiliar position as he will suit up as a libero in his debut in the national team.
Vince Lorenzo will accompany Ybañez as a libero for Alas Pilipinas.
The Philippine team wing spikers are Nico Almendras, Noel Kampton, Jade Disquitado and Leo Ordiales.
Kim Malabunga, JP Bugaoan, Rwenzmel Taguibolos, and Lloyd Josafat are tasked to guard the net.
Alas will open its campaign against China in pool A.
