Fr. Jerome Secillano, Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) executive secretary on public affairs, says that divorce is not the 'quick fix' solution to abusive marriages, adding that most divorcees find themselves bringing the same problems to new relationships. Reinforcing the church's stance against divorce as anti-family, he says laws must instead be crafted to prevent domestic violence.
