Rain showers over NLuzon as shear line emerges

MANILA, Philippines: The shear line -- the point where the hot and cold air converge – has emerged and is now affecting the eastern section of Northern Luzon while the easterlies will continue to bring hot weather in most parts of the country.

Weather specialist Robert Badrina of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said they have not monitored any tropical cyclone or low pressure area entering the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) in the coming days.

Based on Pagasa's data and analysis, only one storm will probably enter PAR within this month and will be named "Aghon."

In particular, the shear line is affecting Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region and Aurora where overcast skies will be likely, the Pagasa forecaster said.

On one hand, the easterlies – winds coming from the east that pass through the Pacific Ocean and carry humid and warm weather – is bringing partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated downpours or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country, the state-run weather agency said.
