MANILA, Philippines: The provinces of Capiz, Catanduanes and Eastern Samar will have a "dangerous" heat index of 45 degrees Celsius, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Wednesday.
The National Capital Region will swelter at 41 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, the air temperature in Tuguegarao City could reach 37 degrees Celsius and 35 degrees Celsius in Metro Manila, the weather bureau said.
It will be another hot day in other areas, except in Mindanao where cloud clusters are being closely monitored, Pagasa said.
Weather specialist Daniel James Villamil said there was a possibility of a tropical cyclone forming or entering the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) over the weekend or early next week.
"This weather disturbance may affect areas in Mindanao when it enters PAR," Villamil said.
