SUBIC BAY FREEPORT: All roads lead to this premier freeport as the region's top triathletes compete in the 2024 Asia Triathlon Cup at the Subic Bay this weekend, May 4 to 5, 2024.

Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) Chairman and Administrator Eduardo Jose Aliño has promised to give his all-out support to the event and root for the country's top triathlete as well.

"Top Filipino triathletes Kim Mangrobang and Fer Casares will go up against the top triathletes of the world this coming 2024 Asia Triathlon Cup Subic Bay elite division," he said.

"We want them to feel that we are proud of them representing our country,"

Aliño said six-time Southeast Asian Games gold medalist Mangrobang and 2023 men's elite champion Casares will compete alongside fellow Filipino triathletes such as Raven Alcoseba, Erika Burgos, Josh Ramos, Kira Ellis and veteran John Chicano.

"So, expect an exciting weekend this May as these top Filipino athletes will compete in the elite division," he added.

He also said that triathletes from 16 countries will take part in the 2024 Asia Triathlon Cup Subic, including those from powerhouse Japan, Australia, Canada, South Korea, Malaysia and Singapore.

The annual triathlon event is organized by the Triathlon Association of the Philippines and held in cooperation with the SBMA.
