Farm Fresh snaps losing skid, keeps SGA winless

MANILA, Philippines: The Farm Fresh Foxies ended a five-game losing slump after beating sister team Strong Group Athletics (SGA), 25-10, 25-15, 25-22, in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) 2024 All-Filipino Conference at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Thursday, April 18.

Despite being out of the semis contention, the Foxies showed grit in claiming their third victory in 10 games.

SGA, meanwhile, dropped to a 0-10 slate.

Coming off the bench, Cait Viray took the Player of the Game plum after chiming in 11 points built on eight attacks, two blocks, and an ace.

Trisha Tubu chipped in 13 points while Sofia Ildefonso added six points for the Foxies.

After a so-so performance in the first two sets, SGA came alive in the third set and tied the score at 21-all.

After Joy Onofre and Ildefonso traded points to knot the score at 22-all, Viray scored on a power kill and Ildefonso added a through-the-block kill to give the Foxies the advantage at 24-22.

Viray finally ended the match with crosscourt hit.

Souzan Raslan led SGA with nine points while Onofre added seven.

The Foxies showed dominance in the attacking department, 49-29.

Farm Fresh will close its elimination round schedule against title-favorite Choco Mucho on Tuesday, April 23.

SGA, on the other hand, seeks to wrap up the elims against Akari on Saturday, April 27.
