Tuguegarao to sizzle at 37 degrees Celsius

Tuguegarao City will likely have the highest temperature Sunday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

Weather specialist Grace Castañeda said this northern city will bake at 37 degrees Celsius.

Metro Manila will also sizzle at 35 degrees Celsius, she said.

"It is expected that these areas would experience hotter temperatures or higher heat index in the day," Castañeda said.

Pagasa reiterated its reminders to the public to limit time spent outdoors as warm and humid weather due to the easterlies will prevail in most parts of the country.

Castañeda said that the easterlies – winds coming from the east that pass through the Pacific Ocean and carry warm and humid weather – will affect Metro Manila and the rest of the country in the next 24 hours.

"Despite the generally fair weather conditions, isolated downpours or thunderstorms would still be likely especially in late afternoon or at night," she said.
