Marcos, first lady watch James Taylor concert

(UPDATE) PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and first lady Liza Araneta-Marcos on Tuesday took a break from their busy schedule to enjoy an enchanting date night at the concert of American singer-songwriter James Taylor in Pasay City.

The first lady uploaded photos of their date night on social media a day after the President said he needed to make time for his wife this week after his trip to the United States.

"Listening to the timeless melodies of James Taylor," the first lady wrote on her social media on Tuesday, using the hashtags #StillRockingAt76 and #IdolForever.

The first couple swayed to the rhythm of love and melody as Taylor performed his hit songs "How Sweet It Is," "You've Got a Friend," "Smiling Face," "Shower The People" and "Fire and Rain," at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The 76-year-old American singer serenaded his fans at the MOA Arena seven years after he canceled his concert in Manila in 2017 to protest the drug war killings during the Duterte administration.

During the concert, Taylor thanked his fans for the warm welcome. He last performed in Manila in 1994.

"It took a very, very long time. Thanks for having us back," the singer said.

The President and the first lady also watched the band Coldplay on the first night of its concert at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan last January.
