The summer season kicks off with exciting launches from fast food giants Jollibee and McDonald's.
Jollibee introduced their new Pinoy Summer Specials, featuring the returning favorite Ube Cheese Pie and the new Buko Pandan Sundae. These are some of the well-loved Filipino dessert flavors with added extra twists.

The Ube Cheese Pie is making a comeback with crispy crust filled with oozing ube halaya and creamy cheese filling, while the Buko Pandan Sundae, the brand's modern and leveled-up take on the classic Filipino dessert, is their signature creamy vanilla soft-serve generously topped with chewy buko pandan jelly, buko strips, and a drizzle of pandan syrup.
"Summer is a time to enjoy and create memories, and it's always been Jollibee's mission to serve joy and be part of the Pinoys' celebrations," said Bea Tempongko, senior marketing manager at Jollibee.
"And this is why we've taken everyone's Filipino dessert favorites and turned them into extra special offerings. Whether you're revisiting the comfort of our Ube Cheese Pie or exploring the fresh delight of our Buko Pandan Sundae, there's something special that can bring you extra saya this season," she added.
The Ube Cheese Pie and Buko Pandan Sundae are available nationwide until May 31.
Meanwhile, McDonald's introduced new, nostalgic sides that will elevate the entire meal experience.
The new side selections include the Sweet Corn McShaker Fries, which has a sweet and salty taste with a distinct sweet corn flavor shaken into McDonald's World-Famous Fries. A complement to its flavor is the chocolatey, nutty, and sweet ChocNut Sundae and McCafe ChocNut Frappe, whose tastes remind one of the popular Filipino sweet treat — all of which will be available for a limited time only.
The McDonald's Sweet Corn McShaker Fries can be enjoyed ala carte in Medium, Large or BFF, or as your fries upgrade to any meal. The ChocNut Sundae likewise may be enjoyed ala carte or as an add-on to a meal.
Apart from the sides, the brand also launched the new and improved Double Cheeseburger which has upgraded buns — a softer texture and a shiny glaze that makes them moist chewy, and toastier to golden brown perfection.
But the improvements don't stop there because the cheese is melted to the right temperature. The 100 percent beef patties are also juicier thanks to a wider gap in the flattening grill, and the vegetables fresher with a 60 percent reduction in stored vegetables.
"By incorporating familiar Filipino flavors into our menu, we are not only catering to the Filipino palate but also creating a shared experience across generations," said Katrina Lee-Chua, director for Marketing and Channels.
"With our Best-Everrr Burgers and new nostalgic sides, we aim to create unforgettable moments and deliver feel-good experiences that keep our fans of all ages coming back for more," she added.
